Nashisa Graduation and What’s Next?

Our Partnership Continues . . .

Nashisa, our sister village in Uganda will “graduate” this spring, having achieved their goals of sustainable change in education, health, livelihood, and leadership capacity, in partnership with Food for the Hungry. As CapChuch, we are so grateful for the opportunities we have had to support this community for the last seven years through FH child sponsorships and our regular visits.

Although we are sad to say goodbye, we celebrate Nashisa’s independence. Their graduation will take place March 26-27.  If you might be interested in attending graduation in Uganda, email kim@capchurch.ca.

In consultation with Cap, FH Uganda and FH Canada have invited us into a new partnership with four vulnerable communities in the Bukyiende sub county of Mbale: Bumutsopa, Bushiangi, Bungwaanyi, and Burukuru.

These four communities are a 45-minute drive southeast from the FH office in Mbale town, about 30 minutes southeast of Marare and Nashisa, and about 30 minutes directly east of Bufukhula and Mahkai. Our two most recent Cap teams have visited this region and have spoken enthusiastically of the obvious needs, the warmth of the people, the great potential, and the natural beauty there.

If you have questions about child sponsorships with Food for the Hungry, what happens next with our FH involvement in Uganda, and to perhaps hear a story or two from our recently-returned Nashisa team, join us for a brief meeting after church this Sunday.
